Learn more about me

Hello, in this section I’ll share a brief story of how I began my journey in photography, along with a glimpse into my life. It offers a concise introduction to the person behind the camera — your photographer.”

I was born and raised in Bogotá, a vibrant city full of chaos, yet deeply marked by art—in its streets, its downtown, its people, and in each of the mentors who taught me photography.

Before discovering the world of imagery, I studied Systems Engineering. It was during that degree, in one of those elective courses, that I discovered photography. I am endlessly grateful for that class, as it opened my mind and heart to something I never imagined I would love so deeply.

While studying engineering and working at the same time, I also found space for sports. I have been an athlete my whole life, and back then, I used to skate through the streets of Bogotá. I always carried a camera with me—a tool I didn’t yet fully know how to use—but it quickly became my inseparable companion. With it, I photographed my friends skating, the streets of the city, and the surrounding landscapes.

One day, I decided to formally study photography. I looked for universities that offered not only technical training but also art, art history, and programs that started with analog photography in the darkroom. Fortunately, Bogotá had several options, and I believe I chose the best. For four and a half years, I immersed myself in art, images, and a visual world that I learned to see and appreciate. I was fortunate to study under the best teachers in the country: passionate landscape photographers, editors of leading newspapers, strict creative directors in fashion agencies, and designers who lived and breathed photography, light, and color.

After graduating, I knocked on countless doors to pursue photography outside of Colombia. One day, a company in Mexico gave me an opportunity. I flew to work as a wedding photographer, and later lived in Costa Rica capturing family moments in hotels. After some time, I returned to Mexico, not knowing I would fall in love with its people and culture. I settled in Guadalajara, the land of mariachi and tequila, where I founded my photography business and built my family.

Sports are another great passion of mine. In Guadalajara, I discovered boxing, which I have practiced for as many years as I have lived here. I also enjoy hiking—the mountains inspire me in every sense—and swimming; I love being in the water. I am certified in AIDA Level 1 freediving, so I also practice apnea. Sports, without a doubt, fill me with life.

And if there is something that moves me deeply, it is cinema. I love it because it is a unique blend of art and emotion. In every film, I find inspiration: the way light tells stories, the silences that speak louder than words, the characters who feel close even when they live in faraway worlds. For me, cinema is both a refuge and a window; it excites me, makes me reflect, and often inspires the way I create images. Each film is a reminder that behind every story lies a world of possibilities, and that same spirit I seek to bring to my photography.

Today, I am married to a woman from Guadalajara and proud father of a beautiful Mexican daughter. My life revolves around three pillars: being a present father, dedicating myself 100% to photography (between sessions, countless hours of editing, and watching films to study imagery because there is always more to learn), and staying active through sports. I am simple, direct, and kind, always seeking to provide clear answers and remaining open to discovering new places, people, and perspectives along the way.
